A festive and visually appealing cake that celebrates Independence Day with vibrant strawberries and blueberries representing the American flag.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of vanilla cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of whipped cream
  • 1 cup of strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup of blueberries
  • Red and white sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to the package instructions using the water and eggs.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  5. Spread a layer of whipped cream on top of the cooled cake.
  6. Create a flag design with sliced strawberries for red stripes and blueberries for the blue field.
  7. Add sprinkles if desired to enhance the festive look.
  8. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh fruit and consider fresh whipped cream. Store covered in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze un-topped for longer storage.
